APOLLINARIS BEGINS EXPORTING
In 1873, Apollinaris Company Ltd. is founded.
In 1874, Eduard Steinkopff, a German who had immigrated to London, acquires the rights to export mineral water to several countries; four years later he takes over all exports.
In 1875, six million clay jugs are exported by sea to England, where Apollinaris is described as being "clear as crystal, soft as velvet, sparkling as champagne".
