FROM RED TRIANGLE TO WORLDWIDE BRAND
Germany's Act to Protect Product Designations is enacted on October 1, 1894. On 4 March 1895, the Apollinaris companies (namely, "Apollinaris Actiengesellschaft, vormals Georg Kreuzberg" and Apollinaris Company Ltd.) apply for trademark protection of the Apollinaris logotype, the red triangle – also when appearing as a red diamond, in order to prevent imitations – along with the slogan, THE QUEEN OF TABLE WATERS.
The Apollinaris logo and the red triangle – familiar symbols of quality and success – become worldwide symbols of the brand.
In 1897, a very special honour is bestowed upon the Apollinaris Company Ltd., when Queen Victoria and her son Edward, the Prince of Wales, designate Apollinaris a purveyor to the British Royal Family.
